First is that I’ve updated the website to redirect straight here to the blog, rather than the boring ol’ admin page I had configured previously.  In other news with the website, Evonne and I plan on sitting down soon (in person or online) to start some work on the site design and I will be configuring the blog link bookmark on the Sugar computer this week.

Secondly is that a lot of progress has been made in recent months with regards to our property and its permits and such…not sure how much can be said publicly on this at this time, so I’ll just leave it at that, but things are definitely moving forward!

Should anyone wish to start blogging here, let me know and I’ll setup an account for you.

Between our guests Common Vision and Daniel Pinchbeck, along with a few others, the house has been busy with thought and motion. So needless to say we’ve been catching up on a of lot chores: cleaning and what not, recently.

When not cleaning or otherwise working to improve Sugar’s quality of life, many of its residents are busy humming along on their various projects and businesses. Never a dull moment, there’s always some random or methodically planned out intention to evolve us even further along our path…

Great times, hard work, bits of fun tossed in for good measure, and always the guaranteed weekly meetings.

Now if we can just get some of the other residents to start posting here.

Fresh from their cross-country tour, Melissa and Phil arrived a day or two prior to our Friday evening, 20 friends and family gathering.

There was a great Indian menu served, with a slew of miscellaneous goodies, including a super-fine, tiramusu torte from Trader Joes. Conversation flowed as freely as the wine, along with ample humor, including a rattlesnake egg trick and a rubber turkey…

The rest is up to your imagination.

Thanks to a great night to all that attended, especially the S.S.S. crew, and of course, the Sugar house for hosting another great night!

Hello All!

We would like to invite you and a guest to dinner this Friday night.

Here is the background, my brother and his girlfriend are driving across the states having meals with families and documenting the recipes and times (my brother is a photojournalist relocating from Georgia to SF and Melissa is a wine and cheese expert and both are hilarious) and are planning on making a cooking book-thing out of it.

Please join us for dinner, come by around 6pm if you want to help cook, come by at 7pm for pre-dinner festivities and dinner is planned for 8pm. Bring a dish and a recipe, if you like, or just make it up on the fly, which works in a lot of situations, or bring a lil’ wine or cheese and I’m sure they will ask you about it.

Sugar’s been transforming over the last few months and just one of the changes taking place is its viral, web presence.

A new and improved website is in the works, Evonne recently opened a Twitter profile, a tribe on Tribe, and of course, there’s the age old Yahoo group. And as some may remember, Sugar actually once had a blog, but at that time, there were few blog-savvy residents around; these days however, is another story.

Evonne and I are both prolific bloggers in addition to some of the other current residents who blog to varying degrees, including Robb and Ryan.

As for the blog’s theme, we’ll probably be playing around with a few different versions until we all agree upon one; feel free to view all the available WordPress themes and then make a suggestion.

Stay tuned as everyone gets up to speed with the new platform and begins to venture out with their own posts.
